How to Verify a Genuine Balcano or Exoder Garment via the QR Hangtag

Indonesian menswear trousers are among the most counterfeited garments there
are. The label can be copied. The cloth can be matched. What cannot be faked is
the official page describing the exact article in your hand.

That is why every genuine Balcano and Exoder pair carries a QR hangtag.

How to check

1. Open your phone camera and point it at the QR code on the hangtag.

What should open

The page that opens is the official product page for that item code. On it you
will find:

• The product name and its brand — Balcano or Exoder, matching the label
• The item code, such as `BAL-501`
• The specification — fabric, silhouette, front construction
• The measured size chart in centimetres for that article
• The registered trademark number, with a button opening its record in the

If all of that matches the garment you are holding, the garment is genuine.

Checking the trademark in the DJKI database

Beyond this site there is one more check anyone can run without taking our word
for anything: look up the registered trademark number in the DJKI database
(Indonesia's Directorate General of Intellectual Property).

If the QR goes nowhere

Three possibilities:

Item codes are never reissued

One thing separates this system from a mere label: an item code like `BAL-501`
is printed on a physical garment and is never used for a different article.
If a code ever pointed at one product, it will always point at that product.

It is also why the link on a hangtag keeps working years after the purchase.
